About CBD
What is CBD?
CBD, or cannabidiol, is a natural compound extracted from the hemp plant. Unlike THC, CBD has no psychoactive effects, meaning it does not alter consciousness. It is used for its soothing properties, and many people consume it to reduce stress, relieve certain pains, or improve sleep quality. CBD is available in a variety of forms, including oils, creams and more.
What are the effects of CBD?
CBD is known for its relaxing and soothing effects. It helps reduce stress and anxiety, offering a sense of calm and well-being. CBD is also used for its anti-inflammatory properties, making it a popular choice for promoting physical recovery after exercise. What’s more, it can help improve sleep quality, notably by helping you fall asleep more easily and promoting deeper sleep.
Is CBD addictive?
No, CBD (cannabidiol) is not addictive. Unlike THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the main psychoactive compound in cannabis, CBD is not addictive. Numerous scientific studies have demonstrated that CBD is a natural, non-intoxicating product that does not affect the nervous system in an addictive way. In fact, CBD is often used to help reduce symptoms of anxiety, stress, and sleep disorders, without the undesirable side effects associated with other substances. If you’re looking for an alternative way to relax your mind without the risk of addiction, CBD can be a great option.
CBD oil
What is CBD oil?
CBD oil is a substance derived from the hemp plant. It mainly contains cannabidiol(CBD), one of the many chemical compounds found in this plant. Unlike other compounds such as THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD has no psychoactive effects, which means it doesn’t alter your state of consciousness.
CBD is extracted from the hemp plant, then diluted in a carrier oil, usually hemp oil or other vegetable oils such as coconut or olive oil, to create the CBD oil you can find commercially.
The effects of CBD are still being studied and are currently the subject of a great deal of scientific research. However, many people are already using CBD oil for its potential benefits, including relieving stress, anxiety and improving sleep, although further studies are needed to confirm these effects.
What's the difference between full spectrum, broad spectrum and isolate?
When it comes to CBD, there are three main types of extraction: full spectrum, broad spectrum and isolate. Each of these types has distinct characteristics that influence their effect and use.
-
Full-spectrum CBD: This type of CBD oil contains all the natural compounds of the hemp plant, including terpenes, flavonoids, and THC in very small quantities (less than 0.2% in most legal products). The full spectrum enables the entourage effect, where all the compounds work together to enhance the effects of CBD. This means that all the plant’s elements interact to maximize the product’s therapeutic benefits.
-
Broadspectrum CBD: Broad spectrum CBD oil contains most of the compounds found in the hemp plant, but no trace of THC.
-
CBD isolate:Isolate is the purest form of CBD, containing only cannabidiol (100% CBD), with no other plant compounds, including THC, terpenes or flavonoids. It is often used by people seeking to benefit solely from the effects of CBD, without interference from other compounds.
At CannaHouse, we only offer full spectrum CBD oils that contain all the cannabinoids naturally present in the plant, providing an optimal entourage effect.
How often should I consume CBD oil?
How often you should take CBD oil depends on your individual needs and tolerance. In general, here are some recommendations:
-
Start with a low dose: If you’re just beginning to use CBD oil, start with a low dose (e.g. 1-2 drops) once or twice a day. This allows your body to adapt smoothly.
-
Increase gradually: After a few days, if you don’t feel the desired effects, you can gradually increase the dose and frequency, according to your needs.
-
Consult a healthcare professional: It is always advisable to consult a healthcare professional to determine the frequency and dose best suited to your situation, especially if you are taking other medications.
What is the ideal dosage for CBD oil?
Every human being is different, and dosage will depend on a number of factors, including weight, age and metabolism. Below is a summary table with averages to give a clearer idea of the dosages to be taken.
It’s always advisable to start with lower-than-average dosages and gradually increase, day by day, until you find the right dosage for you.
